The Chinook Salmon

From the Pacific to high Sierra rivers the Chinook will forever be known as one of the most elegant fish to grace the water

Sometimes known as the King Salmon, the Chinook changes its entire look multiple times through out its life. From full of color as a juvenile, to grey and blue as an adult living in the ocean and finally back to green, grey and sometimes red as it swims up river to its birthplace to breed.Once they’ve bred they will fan out beds, lay eggs and pass over to the next stage of life leaving their corpse behind for the ecosystem and aquatic bugs. Which in turn provides their young will feed as the begin to hatch in the spring
